Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in support of VRC intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition an order for Luciferase 1000 Assay system with Promega Corporation, 2800 Woods Hollow Road, Madison, Wisconsin. Promega is the original manufacturer (OEM) of the reagent. The Luciferase Assay System is an extremely sensitive and rapid reagent for quantitation of firefly luciferase. Generally, 100-fold greater sensitivity can be achieved over chloramphenicol acetyltransaferase (CAT) assays. The Luciferase Assay Reagent generates light that is nearly constant for at least 1 minute and so is compatible with measuring firefly luciferase in a single-tube luminometer or in a multiwall plate luminometer with an auto-injector. Ongoing experiments are based on results achieved using these products from this vendor; changing vendors at this time would be detrimental to VRC research. This is not a request for proposal. All responsible sources who can show capability to produce this reagent may submit a proposal with a statement of capabilities to indicate product specifications and past performance producing the same or similar reagents. All responses will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether to this requirement is available for competition. All responses shall be submitted to Nancy Nannetti at nannettn@mail.nih.gov no later than May 7, 2014 by 2:00pm EDST.
