- Description
- The USDA/Farm Service Agency (FSA), Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO) procures domestic origin food commodities for use in Nutrition Assistance Programs administered by the USDA/Food and Nutrition Service. Kansas City Commodity Office intends to issue solicitations for the procurement of a Whole Grain Enriched Blend Pasta in the form of - Pasta, Macaroni Elbow - Pasta, Rotini Macaroni - Pasta, Spaghetti - Pasta, Penne Product supplied must contain 51-65% Whole Durum Wheat Flour and the remaining grain must be enriched. The awards will be made under Definite Delivery contracts to the responsible bidder(s) who submit the lowest offer to the Government based on price and price related factors. Vendors interested in potentially supplying product under future solicitations should supply their contact information to the Points of Contact listed in this notice, including responses to the following: 1) your interest in supplying this product and verification of 100% domestic origin; 2) product specifications, including: a. brand name/product code; b. product formulation and fabrication; c. product shapes currently available d. labeling information, including: lot coding, nutrition facts, ingredients label, and allergen statement; e. shelf life, including recommendations for optimal storage conditions; 3) pack size(s) (net weight), and servings per container; commercial prevalence of each pack size; 4) truckload unitization/configuration and weights: packages per case, cases per pallet, and pallets per truckload; net case weight (in lbs.) and gross case weight (in lbs.) 5) historical price; 6) capabilities: volume constraints, distribution limitations, etc., as applicable; 7) commercial warranty; 8) any other relevant information, recommendations, comments, issues and/or concerns; 9) company/organization name and contact information: name, title, phone and e-mail address. The solicitations intend to be available based on the Fiscal Year 2014 Schedule: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_File/fy_2014_solicitation_sched.pdf The solicitations will be distributed solely through the USDA/FSA/Commodity Operations, Web Based Supply Chain Management system. WBSCM access is available at: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/FSA/webapp?area=home&subject=coop&topic=wbs All future information concerning these acquisitions, including solicitations, amendments, and commodity requirements will be distributed and accessed solely through the aforementioned WBSCM website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the WBSCM website to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about these acquisitions. Hard copies of the solicitations will not be available. The WBSCM website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a copy of the solicitations. The solicitations may be a total set-aside for small business, or can have a partial set-aside for small business concerns, 8(a) concerns, HUB Zone concerns, and/or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns.
