- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), will host its 7 th Annual Small Business Conference on Thursday, May 22, 2014, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. The event will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building/International Trade Center, Pavilion Room, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004. This year's theme is " USAID and Small Businesses: Global Partners with Global Solutions". The OSDBU serves as advocates for small businesses by providing guidance, education and support to internal and external stakeholders to maximize opportunity while maintaining accountability. The event will include: •· Welcoming remarks from local dignitaries and representatives from USAID •· Information about federal government contracting •· Matchmaking and counseling •· Networking The conference is designed to provide small business representatives an opportunity to learn about upcoming contractual opportunities with USAID; and network with USAID leadership and contracting officials. We are expecting over 200 attendees from the small business community, Federal organizations, and prime contractors. Registration Process: Attendance is limited to one (1) REPRESENTATIVES PER COMPANY. COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMITTANCE TO THE CONFERENCE. You must receive a n email confirmation to attend. You will be notified within five (5) business days of registration of your approval status. There is NO COST to attend, but all attendees must be registered for attendence. S mall businesses representative who are interested in pursuing government contracts with USAID or who have initiated the process, but have not yet been successful should attend this event. Why should I attend? During the program portion of the event small business representatives will receive useful information on the government contracting process directly from government representatives. You will also have the opportunity to register for matchmaking/counseling appointments with USAID representatives, large prime contractors and other government agencies with similar missions.
