- Description
- The US Department of Labor, Office of Job Corps, has a requirement for qualified contractors with the capacity to provide design/build services for repairs or replacement of roof flashing and the exterior porcelain tile, which is failing at nine (9) building locations throughout the Cleveland Job Corps Center located in Cleveland, Ohio. The work will include field investigation and assessment of the existing building envelopes to determine the causes of failure. Also, provide recommendations for repairs or replacement of affected building envelope systems and preparation of construction documents for the selected repair or replacement schemes. The estimated price range is between $1 million and $5 million. Interested offerors are requested to submit a statement of qualifications. Your statement of qualifications must provide sufficient information that demonstrates the experience of your team and shall include examples of the following: 1. Previous projects of similar scope and value: a. Current or previous projects completed by your design/build team that are similar in scope and value to the work required under this project to include; two or more building envelope assessment and rehabilitation project with a $1M to $5M constructed value within the last five years. b. Contractor has previous experience on projects using exterior tile work as a building façade component. NOTE: Provide previous project examples that include the location of the project, the project owner, brief and concise description of the project scope, specialty design consultants employed, a comparison of the construction budget versus construction award value and the final contract amount. 2. Project Location: a. Contractor completed three or more projects in the State of Ohio in the last five years indicating familiarity with state and local codes, environmental conditions, economic conditions and experience/qualifications of local design consultants. Provide project locations of previous project examples. 3. Cost control, project schedule, safety, and quality of work: a. General Contractor has a proven record of excellent performance by completing projects on or ahead of time. Using the previous project examples include the Contract Award/NTP date, the original contract completion date, and the actual contract completion date for each project. b. Contractor has a proven record of excellent performance by reducing cost and completing projects on or below budget. Using the previous project indicate the contract award amount, the final contract value, and a percentage of change order value relative to the total construction value for each project. c. General Contractor has established Safety and Quality Control procedures and protocols which are consistently applied to all projects. 4. Also detail your teams’ experience with federal or public sector design/build projects. This notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Government to issue a Request for Proposals or award a contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on responses, nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information submitted. Entities responding to this Sources Sought Notice should submit the minimum information necessary for the Government to make a determination that the source is capable of satisfying the requirements. The response must be specific to each of the criteria listed above to demonstrate that the respondent is capable. The submissions shall not exceed 10 pages. RESPONSES ARE DUE ON MAY 15, 2014, BY 2:00 PM EST, AND MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY VIA E-MAIL TO: gloster.monica@dol.gov (Monica C. Gloster, Contract Specialist). Acknowledgement of receipt of responses will not be made, nor will respondents be notified of the Government’s evaluation of the information received.
