If you have submitted anything and have not received a response please submit again. The cut off for any questions is 12 May 2014. Additionally, Amendment 1 changed Paragraph 4.4.5.1 40,000 to 60,000 this is the correct spec. The wrong line in the Purchase Specifications was updated. This has been corrected in the Purchase Specification uploaded with this amendment. Questions and Answers as of 05 May 2014 1. The specs state "3.4.6.18. elevator casing with 12 gauge steel hood and 7 ga steel head and intermediate sections shall be rigid,". Is it acceptable for the complete elevator design to be of 10 gage? Answer: 10 gauge can be used on the casing but 7 gauge steel is required for the head 2. The specs state for the air wash "3.4.7.15. enclosure shall be constructed the same way as the bucket elevator as described in 3.4.6". Is it acceptable for the air wash to be 10 gage as well. Answer: Air wash module can be 10 gauge 3. The specs state for the dust collectors to be "4.4.5.2. vertical, aspirated, single point seal cartridge filter configuration". Is it acceptable to use down flow cartridge filters in lieu of the vertical filter type. Answer: vertical filter type configuration must be used 4. Is this a design/build and therefore we design for the flows, etc. required or do we need to meet the sizes for the dust hoppers stated in the specifications. Answer: The specifications are the minimum requirements that the contractor must verify and use during their design phase of the project 5. Does the equipment need to come from one central or primary supplier/manufacturer of blast systems? Answer: No; equipment can come from any manufacturer that can meet the requirement 6. Will the end user accept a new pneumatic media recovery/reclaim system as an alternative to the mechanical systems identified below for Solicitation Number: FA8224-14-R-0114SM? Pneumatic system is not acceptable on either bldg. 844 or 847 blast booth.
