Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced contract to Nellcor Puritan Bennett Corporation. Nellcor Puritan Bennett Corporation will repair the Covidien/Puritan Bennett Model 840 Patient Care Ventilator. The services will be performed at Memphis VA Medical Center, 1030 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104. This requirement will be sole sourced because market research has indicated that Nellcor Puritan Bennett Corporation is the only vendor capable of carrying out manufacturer depot repairs on the Covidien/Puritan Bennett Model 840 Patient Care Ventilator in accordance with necessary software downloads and original equipment manufacturers written repair procedures. The Covidien/Puritan Bennett Model 840 Patient Care Ventilator delivers sensitive, precise breaths to critical care patients. The repair of this equipment is needed in order to carry out continuity of patient care. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), "soliciting from a single source." The NAICS code is 811219 and has a size standard of $19M for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 12:00 p.m. EST, May 13, 2014 to: Matthew.Cox@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
