- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 1, VAMC Boston, West Roxbury Campus, located at 1400 VWF Parkway, MA 02132 intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with Olympus America Inc, Center Valley, PA 18034 for the purchase of various medical equipment that in under FSS contract, this equipment includes EVIS EXERA III High Definition, Narrow Brand Imaging compatible, video gastroscope and CV-190 EVIS EXERA III VIDEO PROCESSOR and related equipment. GSA Advantage and the NAC both indicate that only Olympus America, Inc. provides this medical equipment via FSS contract. This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description In 2011, VISN 1 Standardized their endoscopy equipment and entered into a lease agreement with Olympus as the existing equipment was at the end of its useful life and needed to be replaced. The Olympus equipment has proven to be superior in its video and endoscopic procedures and factored into the VISN standardization initiative as the procurement of more such equipment will enhance patient care for particular procedures. Olympus offers a 3D capability that is not currently available with another company/manufacturer. These systems will be essential for standardization between surgical services across all campuses all also provide consistent education for staff and provide the newest technology and continuity to our Veteran patients. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Any FSS contractor parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 05/13/2014 @ 12:00pm. Responses should be sent to James.Corbett2@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
