Description
This project will modify the Runway 1 Medium-Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator (MALSR) Station 8 light bar inside the Runway Safety Area (RSA) and will replace the existing Visual Approach Slope Indicators (VASI) Systems on Runway 19 and 31 with Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) Systems at Ford Airport, Iron Mountain, Michigan. Phase 1 : All construction for PAPI and MALSR on Runway 1/19 shall take place in Phase 1. Flights are scheduled all morning through 1 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction shall start thereafter until 9 pm. All work shall be accomplished during this time frame, no exceptions. No equipment shall remain inside the RSA or Object Free Area (OFA) after each work day; it shall remain in staging area. The contractor must complete Phase 1 within twelve (12) calendar days. Phase 2: Contractor shall do all of the Runway 31 PAPI work. Runway closure will be allowed for Runway 31 RSA work. Phase 1 must be complete before Phase 2 may begin. Simultaneous work on both runways will not be allowed. No equipment shall remain inside the RSA or OFA after each work day; it shall remain in staging area. Contractor must complete Phase 2 within ten (10) calendar days. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract clauses, drawings, and specifications. Contract performance time is 12 calendar days for Phase 1 and 10 calendar days for Phase 2, with an anticipated start date of August 12, 2014. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AT AN OPERATIONAL AIRPORT.
