- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking small business sources for a construction project entitled: Lower Granite Navlock Repairs. The construction will occur at the Lower Granite Dam in Garfield County, near Pomeroy, Washington. This will be a firm-fixed-price construction contract. Construction magnitude is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000, and 100% performance and payment bonds will be required. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, and the associated small business size standard is $33,500,000. This sources-sought announcement is a tool to identify small businesses with the interest in and capability to accomplish the work. This is not a solicitation. Only those firms who respond to this announcement by submitting the following information (items one though five) will be used in determining whether to set aside this requirement. 1) Capability information expressing interest in this requirement, describing your company and its capability to complete a project of this scope, magnitude and complexity. Include information detailing any special qualifications and certifications, applicable to the scope of this project, held by your firm and/or in-house personnel. Include a description of any previous projects that are similar or the same as the work detailed below. Please indicate any parts of the work described in the Summary of Work below that will be performed by a subcontractor. Indicate who the subcontractor is and their experience. 2) Reference list for each of the projects submitted in 1) above. Include the point of contact, title, phone number and email address. 3) A statement of your firm's bonding capacity. 4) A statement of your firm's business size and type (HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, 8(a), woman-owned). 5) Cage Code and DUNS number. Submit this information to Jani Long, Contract Specialist, via email to jani.c.long@usace.army.mil. Your response to this notice must be received on or before 2:00PM on May 22, 2014. Summary of Work: This work consists of metal work and concrete work. The metal work consists of armor angle repair and navigation lock access steel ladder replacement and repair. The armor angle work involves fabricating new armor angle, saw cutting & chipping the armor angle out of old concrete, mounting armor angle with anchor bolts and grouting in place. The ladder work involves replacing and repairing ladders that have been destroyed and/or damaged. The concrete work involves removal and replacement of a section of the concrete floor in the Navigation Lock. The anticipated period of performance is as follows: Begin 10 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete all work by March 13, 2015. Onsite work must be performed between March 2 - March 13, 2015.
