- Description
- The US Army, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), seeks industry partners interested in entering a cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) to provide Next Generation Proximity Sensors Technology support. Participation will be via a CRADA with the National Armaments Consortium (NAC) and at the CRADA partner's expense, as no ARDEC funding will be provided. The CRADA partners are expected to participate in several systems engineering reviews of a U.S. Government (USG) design. The USG will solicit individual, non-proprietary feedback from each partner in an effort to improve the product design. This is not intended to be a co-development effort, as ARDEC will maintain the lead development role for research and engineering on this effort, it is expected that industry review and input into the design during the development process will provide early insight and strategic input into the program's development path. Interested participants should: oBe a NAC member or provide evidence of pending NAC membership. oPossess in-house competency in the development, production and/or integration of proximity sensor components and/or systems for use in any munitions system (Artillery, Mortars, Missiles, Bombs, Rockets, Medium Caliber, UAS, CUAS, etc). oPossess in-house competency for the analysis and evaluation of miniature low power proximity fuze RADARs oProvide Subject matter experts having a minimum of SECRET security clearances and the ability to handle classified data/material up to the SECRET level. oPossess necessary support infrastructure to meet ARDEC requirements relating to Operations Security (OPSEC) and handling/storage of classified and/or Critical Program Information (CPI). ARDEC asks all interested parties to submit a short informational paper to the following points of contact in order to confirm their interest: Donald Geiss, 973-724-3386, email - donald.a.geiss.civ@mail.mil and Evan Young, 973-724-3 8973, email - evan.a.young6.civ@mail.mil. All submissions must be provided by May 23, 2014. These information papers should describe how the interested partners' meet the criteria above. This may include a summary of expertise, capabilities, facilities and relevant experience in the fields of proximity sensors and fuzes. This is not a request for proposal, request for quotation, or invitation for bid, nor does its issuance obligate or restrict the Government to an acquisition approach. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of any responses or pay for the preparation of any information submitted or use of such information. All information received will be used for planning and market research purposes only. Please Note: Those NAC Companies that have already expressed interest by responding to the February 10, 2014 email from the NAC Executive Director, Subject: Fuze CRADA, need not resubmit.
