- Y Boulder Trail Bridges on the Pintler Ranger District This requirement is a TOTAL HUB Zone Set Aside per FAR 19.1305 Location and Directions. The three proposed bridges all reside in Granite County within the Flint Mountain Range. Please see the maps for detailed locations. Directions to the bridges are as follows: a) Boulder Lake Trail is located in the Flint Mountains. The trailhead is accessed from Phillipsburg by traveling north for 11 miles to Maxville. From Maxville, travel 8.8 miles up Road 676 to the Boulder Lakes Trailhead Sign. The trailhead is accessible by high clearance vehicles. b) Copper Lake Trail is approximately one and a half miles prior to Boulder Lake Trail along the same access road. The bridge is at the trailhead. Description of Work. The project consists of removing and replacing three trail bridges. All fabrication and installation of the bridge shall be done by the contractor. All hardware, timber, geocell, rock and fill material are to be furnished by the contractor. Production and commercial certificates sunmittals are required prior to installation for all components see Section 106 of the specifications for what constitutes a production or commercial certificate submittal. Submittals are due no later than February 15, of 2015. The work is at the following three locations: a) Boulder Lake Trail No. 8033 MP 0.0. The current trail bridge at milepost 0.0 has sound decking, no sill logs, native stringers, and is too short. The lack of sill logs is causing the bridge to lean into the creek. The current bridge shall be removed. The new bridge shall be 25 feet in length by 6 feet in width and shall have rock retainer crib and turnpike approaches. This trail is non-motorized. b) Boulder Lake Trail No. 8033 MP 0.1. The current bridge has failed and is unusable. The current bridge has created a pond and widened the creek prior to the bridge. This has created an undesirable existing bridge site at the current location. The new bridge shall be 40 feet in length by 6 feet in width and shall have rock retainer crib and turnpike approaches. The bridge will be located 30 feet downstream from the existing location. A current trail connects the new crossing with the old trail, but this trail is not up to clearing and excavation standards. 150 feet of excavation and clearing and grubbing is necessary at this location. c) Copper Lake Trail No. 8034 MP 0.0. The current bridge has untreated materials that are beginning to show decay. The curbs are smashed and rotten. The new bridge shall be 40 feet in length by 6 feet in width and shall have rock retainer crib and turnpike approaches. Period of Performance : August 15, 2014 to August 31, 2015. Performance period is mandatory do to a native trout species. Work shall be completed no later than August 31, 2015. No on site work can be performed from 8/31/14 to July 15, 2015. Additionally, no work can be performed in September of 2014. Construction Magnitude: $25,000 - $100,000 Full details and solicitation documents will be posted in late May 2014.
