- The Sam Houston National Forest is seeking construction services for the Lift Station and Force Main Replacement at Double Lake Recreation Area. For this project, the contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision and expertise necessary, except as otherwise provided, to successfully perform the following work in accordance with attached and referenced specifications and plans: • Remove all equipment, piping, and electrical components from the existing 8 feet wet well. • Install new equipment, piping, and electrical components in the existing 8 feet wet well. • Install valve box, flushout valve box, and 10 feet of ductile iron pipe force main from the valve box to new 3" PVC force main. • Install electrical service. • Install black vinyl chain link fence. • Replace approximately 6,259 linear feet of 3" force main from the 8 ft. lift station. This is a Request for Proposals which will result in award of a firm-fixed price contract. This project is set-aside 100% for small businesses and is solicited subject to availability of funds (FAR 52.232-18). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237110 Water and Sewer Line and Related Structures Construction and the small business size standard is $33.5 million. Award will be made based on the lowest price technically acceptable to the government and can be made on initial offers. An organized site visit is scheduled for June 9, 2014, 9:30 a.m. The day of the site visit, participants will meet at project location. In order to receive an award from any resultant solicitation, the successful offeror must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) (www.sam.gov). The solicitation and related documents will be available for download at https://www.fbo.gov/ on or about May 28, 2014. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed out. Interested vendors should register to receive notifications through this site.
