If interested in bidding, vendors should notify the Contracting Officer by emailing Leala.Jew@va.gov by the due date indicated on the Sources Sought notice. Synopsis of Work: The Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) at 4951 Arroyo Road, Livermore, California 94550, Building 62, a dental clinic operates four chairs, six days a week. The current dental vacuum system identified as Gardner Denver was installed in 1973 utilizing a non-positive-displacement pump multi-stage centrifugal system. The current vacuum system has a 480 volt, 3-phase motor manually controlled from the dental clinic via a push button control. The main vacuum lines are 2-inch copper tubes running from the basement room number 9 to room number 247, 248 and 251 on the second floor. Description of the Required Work: The branch lines have recently been upgraded from ¾ inch tube to 1 ½ inch tube. The jet flow, 14 gallon separation tank is damaged and is held together with "duct tape plumbed with ABS" and without an amalgam separator. The ABS exhaust tubing from the vacuum producer is not within VA specifications and has the potential to fail or harm maintenance staff. The VA dental clinic has complained that the vacuum system does not provide adequate suction during dental clinic procedures. The current suction is between 2.5-3 SCFM (standard cubic feet per minute) which does not satisfy the VA specification of a minimum suction of 7 SCFM at each high volume oral evacuation (HVE). Four Major Tasks 1. The Contractor shall procure and install VPD10D2- ECO Dry-VAC System or brand name or equal and SolmeteX HG5 Amalgam separator per manufacturer's installation instructions and VA Specifications. 2. The Contractor shall remove and replace with existing dental vacuum system, ABS plumbing and components without interruption of service. 3. The Contractor shall purchase the necessary materials and components to replace the ABS plumbing with copper tubing and install the trap seal primer. 4. The Contractor shall modify and relocate the existing sump pit guardrail and access ladder. The Contractor shall paint the guardrail to match existing colors. The proposed NAICS code is 561990 and small business size is $10.0 million. The VA intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract. Period of Performance will begin immediately after award of contract.
