- Description
- The Forest Service, Washington Office for International Programs is seeking services of basic health and accident insurance services for eligible individuals in the International Visitor Program. These individuals may come from anywhere in the world to visit the United States. The coverage under this solicitation is: Insurance that meets the minimum insurance coverage requirements for the J-1 Exchange Visitors as set forth by the U.S. Department (see the Code of Federal Regulations: 22 CFR 62.14 or on the U.S. Department of State website at: http://exchanges.state.gov/education/jexchanges/administration.htm#insurance) AND, which is compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Coverage is sought for international visitors and their dependents who desire such coverage or who have become resident aliens for tax purposes as a result of their length of stay and who have become subject to the ACA "individual mandate" or "individual shared responsibility" provision. Firms must have online program management system for Forest Service staff. Firms must have the ability to provide for last minute coverage including capability for modifying and canceling coverage, as arrival and departure dates for international visitors often change from what the original intent was when insurance is first ordered. The resulting contract type will be a firm-fixed price Indefinite Quantity-Indefinite Delivery contract. Multiple awards may be made. The contract will include a base period plus four option periods. Minimum guarantee is $1,000.00 and overall maximum is $800,000 over the life of the contract. The solicitation should be posted on or before 4/15/2014. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 524114, and the size standard is $6.5 million annually.
