- Description
- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to release a NASA Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN), for the continued operations of the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI). The selected operator of the LPI shall provide independent intellectual leadership in lunar and planetary science and shall be devoted to research and the provision of service to the scientific community and the public. A high priority activity of the institute is to provide a forum for the exchange and development of ideas in lunar and planetary science; therefore, the selected operator shall enable participation of scientists world-widein Planetary Science Division (PSD) programs. NASA Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN) Announcement # NNJ14ZKA001N, entitled "Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI)", will be available electronically on or about June 24, 2014 through the NASA Research Opportunities homepage ( http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ ) under "Open Solicitations." A pre-proposal conference shall be held on or about July 15, 2014 and a Notice of Intent shall be due on July 31, 2014. Proposals are due on September 30, 2014 Proposals are required to be submitted electronically and must be submitted by an authorized official of the proposing organization. Participation is open to all categories of organizations, including educational institutions, industry, nonprofit organizations, NASA centers, and other Government agencies Electronic proposals must be submitted via the NASA Proposal data system NSPIRES. Every organization who intends to submit a proposal in response to this CAN must be registered with NSPIRES, and such registration must identify the authorized organizational representative(s) who will submit the electronic proposal. Each electronic proposal system places requirements on the registration of principal investigators and other participants (e.g. co-investigators). Potential proposers and proposing organizations are urged to access the system(s) well in advance of the proposal due date(s) of interest to familiarize themselves with its structure and enter the requested information. Questions concerning responding to this CAN may be addressed to the contacts referenced in the full solicitation document. This is a broad agency announcement as specified in FAR 6.102 (d)(2).
