Description

In accordance with FAR 5.2, this is a synopsis of a proposed contract action, and is not a solicitation, request for proposals, or invitation for bids. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District (CENAP) plans to issue an invitation for bids after 29 May 2014 for a welded steel, heavy deck barge. The barge will be used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District for maintenance and construction. The barge specification will include the following features: approximately 150 ft x 50 ft x 8 ft; constructed of ABS Grade-A mild steel; raked bow and stern; deck weight loading capacity of 2000 psf; rub strakes, 1 inch thick by 10 inches wide mild steel; 20 flush, watertight, 18 inch multi bolt manhole type hatches; and eight kevel chocks and four 10 inch double bitts. Delivery will be FOB Destination to Holt Lock and Dam, Alabama, Black Warrior River, Mile Mark 347. Bid, payment, and performance bonds will be required. The delivery date will be 465 days after contract award. Liquidated damages will be included in the contract award.
