Description
Some concerns expressed: A. Complexity and lack of clarified information for the amount of work requested. B. A lot of unnecessary requirements, such as, (1) Numerous Explosion Proof requirements, (2) Fire suppression in a Blast Room? one quick way to ruin Blast Media and potential damage to Blast equipment especially reclaim and recycle equipment. (3) Why such High FPM in side Blast Rooms you state 110FPM normally we design Blast rooms @ 60FPM. Higher FPM will Cause carryover and loss of reusable Blast Media. (4) This high FPM is going to more than double the cost of the Dust collectors, as you want 40,000 CFM and 60,000CFM. C. If the government is wanting the Contractor to supply a workable solution, why have your engineers been so STRINGENT on the requirements? D. Based on serious concerns with this Project we Highly recommend a Site Visit and round table discussion with the customer regarding this project. This would prove to be most beneficial and Cost Effective for both the customer and Contractor Government response: The purchase specifications show the minimum requirement that has to be met. The Government will evaluate contractors proposals based on the specifications. It is a contractor's prerogative to propose or not propose. The Government will not be conducting an additional site visit. Proposals are due 11:59 PM 19 May 2014
