Description
The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a requirement for the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense(USAMRICD) for a Carl Zeiss microscope system. This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC)2001-27. This requirement is unrestricted. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 with a size standard of 500 people. This code shall be listed in System for Award Management (SAM.gov) prior to award. The following are the Minimum Essential Characteristics (MECS) for the requirement: 1.Require an inverted research microscope platform for electrophysiological experiments that will accept existing ZEISS optics in lab for bright field imaging, including infinity-corrected objectives and condenser, without any chromatic or spherical aberrations introduced. We have a considerable stock of Zeiss optics used with other Zeiss microscopes in our laboratory. 2.Must be compatible with an electrophysiology recording system on order, which is designed for use with a Zeiss inverted microscope. 3.Microscope must include LWD optics for Phase Contrast (10x, 20x, 40x objectives suitable for fluorescence microscopy). 4.10X phase contrast objective must have numerical aperture at least 0.3 and working distance of at least 5.2 mm. 5.30X phase contrast objective must have numerical aperture at least 0.4 and working distance of at least 8.4 mm. 6.40X phase contrast objective must have numerical aperture at least 0.6 and working distance of at least 3.3 mm. 7.Microscope must include ergonomic 6 position nosepiece with 3 DIC positions. 8.Microscope must include a long working distance condenser with at least 70 mm working distance. 9.Microscope must include 0.6NA turret condenser for bright field and phase contrast objectives. 10.Microscope must include 10x eyepieces with 23 mm field of view. 11.Microscope must include side-port camera adapter with 100/100 split between camera port and eyepieces. 12.Microscope must include separate DC power supply with extension cable. 13.Microscope must include 12V/100W lamp housing. 14.Microscope must include 3-plate mechanical stage for stable X-Y translation and recessed stage insert to accommodate slides, dishes, and allow for insertion of electrophysiology chamber. 15.Microscope must include locking mechanism for focus drive. 16.Microscope must be field-upgradable for fluorescence imaging. 17.Microscope must include dust cover. 18.Must include a Hamamatsu Video Camera C2400-77AH and cabling and HR-140 monochrome video monitor. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency.
