Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) located at 23 Christopher Way, Eatontown New Jersey 07724 intends on awarding a modification under Contract VA118-13-C-0068 on the basis of Other Than Full and Open Competition to Accessibility Services, Inc., 6360 S. Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, Florida 34446. The proposed modification shall provide 19 portable hospital carts at Michael E. DeBakey VAMC in Houston, Texas, James J. Peters VAMC in Bronx, New York and Edward Hines Jr. VAMC in Hines, Illinois. The portable hospital carts are required to support the installation of the AutonME ECU components when VA-owned hospital beds have been replaced with rental beds. VA-owned hospital beds can be modified to accommodate additional hardware components; however, rental beds cannot be modified under the terms of the rental agreement. The procurement of 19 portable hospital carts will allow ASI to continue with the originally planned installation of all ECUs at Michael E. DeBakey VAMC, James J. Peters VAMC and Edward Hines Jr. VAMC SCI units. This modification is being issued pursuant to authority 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 339112 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees. The estimated date of award for this action is May 28, 2014. This notification shall close on May 21, 2014. This is a notification of intent, not a request for proposals.
