Gamma ray spectrometry is one of the most important radioanalytical techniques used by WEAC in support of FERN radiological emergency response. For screening and confirmatory analysis of radionuclides in foods in a nuclear event, especially, in an event where radioactive contamination source is unknown, the gamma ray spectrometer is also a radio-analytical laboratories first choice for screening radionuclides in samples. Minimum Requirements/Specifications Detector configuration: Vertical slimline dipstick cryostat Preamplifter with 3 meter bias, high voltage inhibit, signal and power cables  80 - Relative Efficiency (%) Resolution: Full width at half maximum (FWHM) is no larger than 1.10 at 122 keV energy line; is no larger than 2.1 keV at MeV energy line Peak shape: FWTP/FWHP: No larger than 1.90 Peak to Compton ratio: No less than 72 End cap diameter: 95mm Energy range: At least covers 40 keV to 10 MeV Electronic interface for communicating detector and detector controller and its application software package: Canberra's LYNX-MCA or equivalent so that it will work with WEAC's gamma-ray spectrometer system's application software and configurations Compatibility: The spectrometer system must be compatable to the gamma-ray analysis application software system used by WEAC: genie 2000/APEX Electrical: AC power: 117 Vac, 50/60 Hz This notice is issued for information purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals. Any small business can submit a statement of capabilities (no longer than 3 pages) in sufficient detail to determine if the requirements of this synopsis can be met..
