- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No solicitation will be issued. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract in accordance to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), authorized or required by statue. This is a one-time procurement. The VISN 10 Network Contracting Office intends to award a sole source procurement with Siemens Medical Systems to purchase: Contractor shall provide technical training for Siemens MRI system. As part of the training, personnel who perform verification and validation activities shall be made aware of defects and errors that may be encountered as part of their job functions. Content of training include: "Product presentation and introduction "System overview and handling "MR basics and system operation "Patient related adjustments e.g. tuning, frequency, transmitter, and 3D-Shim "Functional principles of the hardware components "Processor Configuration and Operation Software "Measurement Control System "RF System "Gradient System "Magnet System, cryogen safety "System review The procurement will be for the VAMC Cincinnati, Ohio. The estimated amounted is $15,660.00. The Government believes that Siemens Medical Systems is the only company that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with sole source procurement for the required equipment. To the best of our knowledge Siemens Medical Systems is the only source that provides the above indicated services. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 611430 and the size standard is 500 employees. This is not a request for proposals; however, an interested party may e-mail a written capability statement for these required items, which shall not exceed two (2) pages in length. Interested parties may submit their capability statement, which may or may not be considered by the agency via email to Jeffrey.black2@va.gov no later than 1:00 PM EDT on May 21, 2014. If no responses are received, the Cincinnati VA Medical Center will proceed with sole source procurement with Siemens Medical Systems.
