- STATEMENT OF WORK The solicitation number for this acquisition is HHS-NIH-OD-OLAO-SBSS-14-127. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) whether they are small businesses; HUBZone small business; service disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 541690 for the proposed acquisition Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. The Division of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS), Office of Research Services, National Institutes of Health, has an immediate need for expert training support services to present specialized Biosafety Level 4 training to personnel associated with the NIAID Integrated Research Facility (IRF), Frederick, MD, and others at the NIH BSL-4 National Training Center (BSL-4 NTC). Subject Matter Expert (SME) training support is critical in order to prepare the research staff that will be supporting the mission of the NIAID IRF in Frederick MD. If your organization is a small business and has the potential capacity to perform these contract services, please provide the following information: (1) Organization name, address, email address, web site address, and telephone number (2) size and type of ownership for the organization [i.e., small business, small disadvantage business, 8 (a) firm, etc]. Business experiences, sizes, types, and socioeconomic designations shall be included with the capability statements. RESPONSES The proposed acquisition action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capabilities by submitting information by May 23, 2014, 12:00 p.m. EST. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract acquisition based upon responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
