- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a maintenance dredging project located in Cohasset, MA. This announcement is to determine the interest, availability, and capability of HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. The project is planned to be issued on or about July 18, 2014. The construction will occur in the winter of 2014-15 and is expected to take 2 to 3 months to complete. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Cohasset Harbor project consists of hydraulically dredging a Federal navigation project which includes an 8-foot deep entrance channel, a 7-foot deep anchorage, and three (3) 6-foot deep anchorages (below Mean Lower Low Water). Approximately 60,000 cubic yards of predominantly fine grain sand material will be dredged from the 8-foot entrance channel and two (2) 6-foot anchorage areas. A hydraulic cutterhead dredge will be required to remove shoal material and pump it approximately 2 miles north to Sandy Beach, in Cohasset, MA. The sandy dredge material will be placed on the beach and spread to meet required design grades. Dredging and disposal operations will be performed between October 1, 2014 and January 31, 2015 to meet environmental time of year (TOY) restrictions. Environmental coordination and permitting will be completed by the U.S. Army of Engineers, New England District. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.), type of equipment the firm is proposing to use on the project, and three (3) example projects showing experience using the proposed equipment. This experience must have been performed within the last five (5) years. Please indicate the team subcontractor(s) (if any), including their prior experience and qualifications, which will be used to support the offeror's effort. Proof of bonding capability is required. Responses are due by June 9, 2014. Responses should be addressed to: Jessica Loc, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Interested firms shall provide the above documentation on a CD/DVD and send it to the mailing address listed above. Questions regarding this sources sought can be submitted electronically to Ms. Loc via email at Jessica.R.Loc@usace.army.mil. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
