- The Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Groton, CT Office, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed-Price contract for Preventive Maintenance for (two) Belt-Driven Air Compressors located at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton CT. The Champion Air Compressors are located in two different buildings, (One) Champion Duplex, Belt-Driven Air Compressor with Dual Pumps 25 HP, Model HPLA25D-25 is located in Building 564 and (one) Champion Single Head Belt-Driven Air Compressor, Model HPL25-25 is located in Building 40. The Contractor shall perform (one) major preventive maintenance with valve inspection and (one) major preventive maintenance every six months on the (two) Champion Air Compressors located at the NSSF/RSG Naval Submarine Base Groton, CT 06349. The subject service will be acquired in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The estimated required period of performance is from 01 June 2014 to 31 May 2019 from contract award. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 811310. A request for quote is available for download on or about 20 May 2014 from the following websites: http://www.neco.navy.mil, www.fbo.gov. Potential vendors are hereby notified that the solicitation and subsequent amendments to the solicitation will ONLY be available by downloading the documents at the above web sites. This office will no longer issue hard copy solicitations. By submitting a quote, the vendor will be self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the quote. Through its submission, the vendor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the System Award Management (SAM) database prior to award, during performance and through final payment of any contract resulting from this solicitation, except for award to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the SAM database will make a vendor ineligible for award. Vendors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements via the Internet at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/.
