Description

The Office of Acquisition Operations (OAO), Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) is seeking responsible sources to meet the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) requirement for physician specialty and subspecialty board certification data from an authorized listing of the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS) for electronic data verification. Federal Supply Schedule holders, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, HUB-Zone Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, and Women-Owned Small Business, are encouraged to respond. This is a Request for Information (RFI), as defined in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e). The Government is issuing this RFI in an effort to understand market availability, technical characteristics, and functionality of products and/or services capable of satisfying the life-cycle technical, functional, operational, and/or capabilities described in this RFI. Any information submitted by respondents to this request is strictly voluntary. This is not a request for proposal, request for quotation, or invitation for bid, nor does its issuance obligate or restrict the Government to an eventual acquisition approach. This RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources relative to NAICS 813920. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses from this RFI or pay for the preparation of any information submitted or for the use of such information. All information received from this RFI will be used for planning and market research purposes only. VHA maintains VetPro, a database of healthcare professionals' credentials. It is the primary source for banking, tracking and verifying credentials of VA physicians, dentists and other credentialed providers. VetPro is VHA's centralized credentialing system used by all VHA medical facilities. As physicians submit credentialing information through the VetPro system, board certification information entered by the physician is compared to the data stored in the board certification look-up tables. Matches that are made through the software are then documented in the system. The Veterans Affairs, Office of Quality, Safety & Value is seeking an ABMS Official Display Agent to provide data of board certified physicians confirmed by 24 ABMS Member Boards: The American Boards of Allergy and Immunology; Anesthesiology; Colon & Rectal Surgery; Dermatology; Emergency Medicine; Family Practice; Internal Medicine; Medical Genetics; Neurological Surgery; Nuclear Medicine; Obstetrics & Gynecology; Ophthalmology; Orthopedic Surgery; Otolaryngology; Pathology; Pediatrics; Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; Plastic Surgery; Preventive Medicine; Psychiatry & Neurology; Radiology; Surgery; Thoracic Surgery; and Urology. The specific data is requested via electronic batch delivery (CD-ROM or logon/ password protected SSL SharePoint site), in a mutually agreeable format with the Government's database contractor. The preferred format is one where each physical record is either a Tag record or a Continuation record. TAG Records hold specific types of information about a biographic/bibliographic record. CONTINUATION Records carry additional tag-related data to the next physical record. These record groups are marked by a Logical Record Delimiter, the double dollar sign ($$). Information between two $$ Logical Record Delimiters represents one bibliographic record. To the maximum extent possible, please submit non-proprietary information. Any proprietary information submitted should be identified as such and will be properly protected from disclosure. The Government shall not be liable for damages related to proprietary information that is not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Any response submitted by respondents to this request constitutes consent for that submission to be reviewed by the Strategic Acquisition Center. The responses may be forwarded to other Government entities in consideration for applicability to other programs. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to provide feedback with respect to any information submitted. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
