- This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought Notice. The Tropical Prediction Center/National Hurricane Center located at 11691 SW 17th Street, Miami, Florida 33165-2149 requires Guard and Protection Services at its facility. Please note this facility is located on the Florida International University (FIU) Campus and Florida Statute 1012.97 empowers and directs the University to provide for police officers for the university (also known as "University Police"). Though the government is requesting market research from firms, please note that due to this Florida Statute the government has been restricted to utilizing FIU's University Police force to provide these services in the past. At this time, the government is not aware of a change in the legislation that would permit competition. The North American Industry Classification system (NAICS) code 561612 (size standard in gross annual receipts of income as defined in 13 CFR 121.104) is $19 Million for a small business. If interested in responding to this sources sought, please be sure to provide the following information that is 10 written pages or less: • Organization's Name, Address, Phone Number, Email, and Point of Contact Information • Brief summary describing your organization and purpose. • Advise if your firm has been approved to provide Guard or Protective Services for Universities in Florida. We are specifically looking for firms that have worked or are approved to work for FIU. • List range of personnel that can provide services and at least three prior examples of similar work related to this announcement. • Include your business size classification (e.g. large business, small business, 8(a), HUBZone, SDB, SDVOSB, WOSB, VOSB, etc.) Responses to this sources sought notice shall not constitute responses to any solicitation, which is not currently available. As stipulated in FAR 5.201, responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely within the Government's discretion. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. Respondents will not individually be notified of the results of any government assessments. The Government's evaluation of the capability statements received will factor into whether any forthcoming solicitation will be conducted as a small business set-aside, full and open competition, or sole-source procurement. Submissions will not be accepted after fifteen (15) days from the posting date. Electronic responses are required and shall be submitted to Joan Clarkston at joan.e.clarkston@noaa.gov. All documentation shall become the property of the Government. Unless otherwise stated herein, no additional information is available.
