IFB to be issued electronically at FBO Website to VA MATOC HOLDERS IFB shall be issued on or around May 27, 2014 Pre-Proposal Conference (PPC) shall take place on May 23, 2014. Exact times, dates, and locations listed below: Anatomic Pathology Conference Room Location: Building 2, Room 344 Date: May 23, 2014 Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Applicable NAICS code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. General building and heavy construction contractors have a size standard of $33.5 million in average annual receipts. Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affair (VA) Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21) Consolidated Contracting Activity (CCA) Building AB7, Room AB742 150 Muir Road Martinez, CA 94533 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The contractor shall be replacing our existing absorption chiller System in the main hospital building on our campus. The contractor will be providing a temporary chiller system for the duration of the project to keep the existing facility online without interruption. This work entails the installation of insulated chilled water piping down the side of Bldg. 203 to the loading dock area which would be the point of contact for the temporary unit. Controls for the temporary unit shall tie into our existing controls so the system will operate correctly and efficient before the demolition of the existing unit begins. The contractor is responsible for providing and connecting power to the temporary unit along with all other necessary components. Once the temporary system is online and functioning correctly, the contractor shall proceed with decommissioning of the existing system. The contractor shall demolish all components of the existing absorption chiller system and cap all utilities no longer to be used with the new system. The contractor shall perform all demolition shown in the construction documents provided, including the existing cooling towers, absorption chiller, radiator unit, roofing material, etc. The contractor shall procure all the new equipment specified in the construction documents and install all items as planned. The contractor will be responsible for the commissioning of the entire chiller system and ensure we meet the performance specification of the project. Contractor shall remove all demolished equipment and parts from the project and demobilize from the site. Contractor shall provide caps for all temporary connections, so they are secure and can be utilize at a future date if needed. Contractor cannot remove the temporary chiller system for 2 weeks after the new system has been commissioned and operating. New control integration shall be 100% complete and accepted before the new system is considered operational.
