- REQUIREMENT: The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to conduct market research which will be used to plan and implement an acquisition strategy to procure Broadband Global Access Network (BGAN) Terminal Antennas. USSOCOM is seeking Interested vendors, or teaming ventures, which have the ability to provide a ruggedized, low profile BGAN antenna meeting the requirements described below. To be an Interested Vendor, firms must be registered in SAM under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 517410 (Size standard is $30M). Vendors not registered in SAM with the NAICs 541990 are not considered Interested and therefore will not be in receipt of any resultant Statement of Work or formal RFP, nor will their submission be reviewed as part of the research pertaining to development of the acquisition strategy. USSOCOM is seeking Interested Vendors that can provide a low-profile, ruggedized BGAN antenna capable of Class 1 level of service. Preference is for items that are Commercial of the Shelf (COTS)/Non-Developmental Item (NDI) and/or modified COTS/NDI. However, this RFI does not preclude responses for products which require development. Requirements: a. Size (Length x Width x Height): The antenna shall not exceed 15" x 15" x1.5" with an objective size of 10" x 10" x 1" b. Weight: 5 lbs (Threshold) 3 lbs (Objective) c. Gain: 15dbi effective gain (Threshold), 18dbi (Objective) d. Pointing: +/- 10 degrees (Threshold ), +/- 30 degrees (Objective) e. Environmental: IP66 (Threshold), IP67 (Objective) f. Mobility: Static operation (Threshold), On-the-move (ship, vehicle, air vehicle) capable (Objective) g. Interoperability: Capable of connecting to an operating from a Hughes 9201 BGAN Terminal Interested Vendors should respond to the Contracting Officer with a notice of intent (NOI) and a summary of their firm's capability. Please include the full name of your firm, point of contact, contact numbers/emails, CAGE code, address, NAICS code, and vendor business size. Please limit response to 10 pages. Request response address the following: Technical Approach, Technology Maturity assessment to meeting both threshold and objective requirements, schedule, and cost (both Non-recurring engineering and projected recurring cost/unit) This RFI does not constitute an invitation to bid nor is it a request for proposal. PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a contract or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
