The cross-vane panel trap is a generic trap that is used in conjunction with lure dispensers to attract bark beetles, ambrosia beetles, longhorn beetles and wood borers (Czokajlo et al., 2001). The trap simulates a tree of large diameter and provides a large surface area to maximize trapping (Czokajlo et al., 2001). The trap is made from light-weight, corrugated plastic and is water- and weather-resistant. The trap consists of two intersecting panels and a top and bottom made of corrugated plastic board. Description of Traps: The trap consists of two intersecting panels and a top and bottom made of corrugated plastic board. In the middle section of the panels, there is a 3 inch x 6 inch cutout in the panels where the lure(s) is placed. The total height of the trap, including the collection cup, is 48 inches. The top and bottom of the trap may either be creased several times around the trap, as in Figure 1, or creased four times, one on each side of the cross-vanes, as in Figure 2. • Dimensions of each cross panel: 32 inches x 12 inches • Trap top: 22 inches x 26 inches • Trap bottom: 22 inches x 26 inches • Trap body (panels, top, and bottom): 1/8 inch (3mm) black corrugated plastic board The intent is to award a 5-year IDIQ fixed price contract with the estimated spend for the kits are estimated not to exceed $1 million over a five year contract.
