Description
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center ? Atlantic (SSC$B!>(BLANT), Charleston, SC intends to increase the ceiling of an 8(a) set-side commercial item Multiple Award Contract (MAC) N65236$B!>(B09-D-5170 through 5178, which provides PBX, routers and switches, by $51.5M and extend the period of performance an additional 6 months (through 3 Jan 2015) to allow for solicitation, evaluation and award of the follow-on MAC. This MAC was awarded to nine 8(a) firms for a base year plus four, one-year options. The 8(a) MAC holders are Mercom, Inc., KIS Computers, Inc., Alliance Technology Group, Inc., JTSI, Inc., Suh$B!G(BDutsing Technologies, Inc., Strategic Communications, LLC, Global Technology Resources, Copper River Information Tech, and Technology Specialists, Inc. Due to unforeseen circumstances, there has been a delay in the release of the follow-on solicitation necessitating this ceiling increase/extension. This supply MAC provides the warfighter with rapid access to system components to be integrated into turnkey solutions and consist of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) PBX (a private telephone network used with an enterprise), Routers, Switches, Related Virtualization Equipment (i.e. blade technology) along with incidental services (equipment support, training, repair, equipment, set-up) for critical programs such as CANES, P8 Poseidon Program, Computer Network Defense (CND) Shore Program, Navy Parametric Solutions Program for USMC First Responders, and many others. Using this strategy has fostered improvement initiatives that include, mission effectiveness, efficient utilization of resources, and volume discounts, and has resulted in cost savings to the government while encouraging the use of 8(a) vendors. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of the work required would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this contract ceiling increase and period of performance extension based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
