- MIL-V-1189D This announcement is a Sources Sought Synopsis (market survey). This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The purpose of this sources sought is to determine interest and capability of potential businesses. The Government may use responses to this sources sought synopsis to make an appropriate acquisition decision for this project. The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is conducting market research for potential qualified contractors that can provide sea valves for the Coast Guard's Polar Icebreaker USCGC HEALY (WAGB-20). The Coast Guard requires the supply and delivery of the following: a) Two each of 16" Nickel Aluminum Bronze, MIL-V-1189D, Type I, Class 4 GATE VALVE. b) Two each of 18" Nickel Aluminum Bronze, MIL-V-1189D, Type I, Class 4 GATE VALVE c) Six each of 20" Nickel Aluminum Bronze, MIL-V-1189D, Type I, Class 4 GATE VALVE. All valves must be built to be operated by Limitorque L120-20 electric motor valve actuators, which are installed on the current valves. Actuators are mounted to the top of the valve stem protector via four bolt holes spaced 4 inches apart in a square pattern. Bolt holes are 5/8" in diameter. The procurement of new electrical actuators is not part of this contract. Attached is the military specification for the sea valves (MIL-V-1189D). Delivery would be to USCG at 2401 Hawkins Point RD, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. Interested parties shall submit a capability statement that includes the following: 1) description of firm's qualifications, capabilities, and previous experience relevant to fulfilling the above requirement, 2) lead time for valve/s production, and 3) the following company information: a) Point of Contact name, Email address and phone number, b) CAGE Code and DUNS number,and c) In the event that you are a small business, state the category of small business, such as 8(a), HUBZone, Veteran Owned Small Business, Woman Owned Small Business, or SDVOSB. The Government intends to advertise a solicitation for this project on or around 10 July 2014. At this time, a solicitation does not exist; therefore, offers shall not be accepted. It is the potential Offeror's responsibility to monitor FedBizOps for release of any future solicitation that may result from this Sources Sought Notice.
