- The US Army 1 Corps Joint Base Chaplain's Office has a new requirement for a Chapel Musician for a 1 year base period plus two (2) annual options. This is a commercial purchase using FAR Part 12 and Part 13 procedures. The following information, as required per FAR 12.603(c) (2) applies: (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation reference number is W911S8-14-T-0009; it is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). (iii) The solicitation document, incorporated provisions, and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-73, effective 22 April 2014, and DPN 20140506, and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement DPN 20140506 Edition. (iv) This acquisition is 100% Small Business Set Aside under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 711130. The small business size standard is $10.0 million. (v) Contract Line Item Number(s) CLINS: PROVIDE PRICING FOR EACH CLIN WITH YOUR RESPONSE. **SEE ATTACHMENT 1 for CLINS (vi) Description of requirements: The Musician is to provide appropriate musical support during the designated worship service. Chaplains are required by statute (USC Title 10) to conduct worship services. Sacred Music is an Essential Element of Worship. The Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Chaplain's mission is to provide Religious Support to Soldiers, Family members, Retirees, and all eligible personnel. As a Non-Personal Services Contractor, the Musician is not a member of a chapel staff or of the JBLM Religious Support Office. The auditions will be scheduled after the quote closing date. (End of Instruction) 52.217-8 OPTION TO EXTEND SERVICES (NOV 1999) The Government may require continued performance of any services within the limits and at the rates specified in the contract. These rates may be adjusted only as a result of revisions to prevailing labor rates provided by the Secretary of Labor. The option provision may be exercised more than once, but the total extension of performance hereunder shall not exceed 6 months. The Contracting Officer may exercise the option by written notice to the Contractor within 30 days. (End of clause) 52.217-9 OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT (MAR 2000) (a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the Contractor within 30 days; provided that the Government gives the Contractor a preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 60 days before the contract expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an extension. (b) If the Government exercises this option, the extended contract shall be considered to include this option clause. (c) The total duration of this contract, including the exercise of any options under this clause, shall not exceed 36 Months. (End of clause)
