- The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, VA New England Healthcare System, West Haven VAMC, located in West Haven Connecticut intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR Part 6.302-1 subsections (a)(I)(ll)(b)(l); -"Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements" and FAR 13.106-1(b) (2), "soliciting from a single source," a firm fixed priced commercial item contract with Champion Medical Technologies for one new unique device identifier; "UDI Tracker," tracking system for use in the West Haven VAMC Department of Surgery. The UDI bar code system automatically scans and stores all pertinent tissue information. The system streamlines repetitive processes allowing the user to not only allocate tissues while scheduling cases, but also to view valuable tissue information during a case such as prep instructions and other data. The system alerts users to expiring tissues improving tissue utilization and preventing waste while customizable dashboards enable tissue managers to expertly manage the inventory. Equipment Specifications: 1.System Equipment a.Set-up b.Software c.Other i.(2) User Manuals (required) ii.(2) Service Manuals (required) iii.(2) Reprocessing Manuals [If applicable] iv.Information on disposable procurement 2.Services a.Training (Clinical) b.Training (Technical) at an authorized training facility per the OEM c.Installation Training Provided / Training Materials 1.Vendor will be required to provide two user manuals for the UDI Tracking System. 2.Vendor will be required to provide two service manuals for the UDI Tracking System. 3.Vendor will be required to provide an on-station in-service on the proper use and setup of the UDI Tracking System. 4.Vendor will be required to provide the cleaning methods/guidelines/proper set up for the UDI Tracking System and other accessories. (required) 5.All employees of CUSTOMER who will be utilizing the UDI Tracking System, including OR Staff, Surgeons, Prosthetic's, Information Technology, Logistics', Clinical Engineering and surgical staff. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature to the Contracting Officer no later than June 11, 2014 at 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Any information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses should be sent by email to Torben.Ohlsson@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated and information received will also be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The West Haven VAMC, VA New England Healthcare System, will consider any and all interest & capability statements received; however, the determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
