- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to procure services by full and open competition for engineering, aircraft modifications and technical support for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Project K-0416, Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Intelligence (AAI) (formerly known as Project Beartrap) under NAICS Code 541330, Engineering Services. The contractor shall provide technical and operational support to successfully achieve AAI mission goals and objectives. Specifically, the contractor shall provide spares and fabrication support for AAI airborne, laboratory, and other collection systems. The contractor shall also provide inventory management support for all AAI site locations worldwide and maintain NAWCAD Patuxent River headquarters as the central inventory control point. All work for above efforts will be accomplished at NAWCAD Patuxent River, Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, FL, NAS Whidbey Island, WA, Marine Corp Base Kaneohe Bay, HI, Helicopter Maritime Strike Weapons School Atlantic (HSMWSL), Mayport, FL, and forward deployed Task Force Commanders Expeditionary sites as required. Additionally, the contractor shall provide forward site depot maintenance support for AAI collection assets and laboratory systems. The contractor shall develop, maintain, and provide training on AAI associated systems. The contractor also shall support AAI tactics development, field intelligence and developmental testing, data acquisition and data reconstruction. The contractor shall support all AAI reporting requirements. The contractor shall work closely with the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Force (MPRF) Weapons Tactics Unit (WTU) and Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Group (CPRG) in the development of AAI systems employed by ASW aircrews. It is anticipated that there will be a five year period of performance consisting of one base year and four (4) one-year option periods. A Request for Proposal/Solicitation is expected to be released in June 2014.
