Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for the procurement of rubber-molded, coaxial underwater connectors for use in the LSV Program testing of IAH and OR units at the Navy's Acoustic Research Lab in Bayview, ID. The connectors are available through SEACON, DBA/Brantner and Associates of El Cajon, CA. The NAICS code is 334417 and the business size standard is 500 employees. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Brantner and Associates. The proposed action is for the procurement of supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: These SEACON connectors will connect to an already installed matching system of connectors that bring signals into the boat and ultimately into the ADAS onboard recording system. The OR sensors need to pair/match up to this already installed system of connectors. Any change from these SEACON connectors would require a system-wide change of design and specifications. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Brantner and Associates using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Any firms believing that they can provide the referenced equipment must submit a written response within 15 days of this posting. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries should be directed to Patricia Perzella at patricia.perzella@navy.mil
