- Description
- The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, Detachment Norfolk VA, intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quotes (RFQ) for drydock and repairs to the USCGC PENDANT (WYTL-65608) a 65 foot harbor tug. The NAICS Code is 336611. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Small Business Set-Aside. Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued on or about June 11, 2014. The acquisition is to perform a drydock and repairs to the USCGC PENDANT (WYTL-65608). All work will be performed at a contractor's facility within 195 nautical miles of it's homport of Boston, MA. The anticipated Period of performance is forty-four (44) calendar days from 15 October through 26 November 2014. The solicitation will be issued electronically via the Federal Business Opportunity web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, renewing and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC PENDANT (WYTL-65608). This work may include, but is not limited to: 1. Hull Plating (U/W Body), Inspect 2. Appendages (U/W), Leak Test 3. Appendages (U/W) - Internal, Preserve 4. Propeller, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall 5. Keel Coolers, Clean, Inspect and Hydro 6. Main Diesel Engine (MDE) Exhaust Piping, Commercial Clean 7. Boiler Exhaust Stack Uptakes, Commercial Clean 8. Fathometer Transducer, General Maintenance 9. Sewage and Grey Water Tanks, Commercial Clean 10. U/W Body, Preserve (100 percent) 11. Cathodic Protection / Zinc Anodes, Renew 12. Drydocking 13. Temporary Services, Provide - Tender 14. Compartment(s) Interior, Lead Dust, Clean 15. Fixed Ballast (Lead Ingots), Encapsulate 16. Hull Plating (U/W Body), Ultrasonic Testing 17.
