Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs in San Antonio Texas, VISN 17, intends to negotiate a sole-source firm fixed price purchase order with Jackson Laboratories for the purchase of transgenic mice to be used in a research project entitled 'FIBROCYTE Contribution to Systemic Fibrosis in Chronic Kidney Disease.' There are four different mice strains that are being utilized for this research project: C57BL/6J; 5/6 Nephrectomy; Homozygous for Nox4; Hemizygous for Tg (ACTB-EGFP) 131Osb. (NAICS code 541712) Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-3 (a) (ii), 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(3)(B), 41 U.S.C. 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(3) (B).This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no valid responses are received, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System will proceed with the intended sole source contract. Responses must be received no later than 12:00 P.M.
