Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This IS NOT a REQUEST for PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, or BIDS. Responses to this request will not be returned. Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation. It is the intent of the Contracting Office to use this information for market research purposes only. The survey is being conducted to determine the interest of industry within NAICIS code 811310 (Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment) and establish that there are adequate Large and/or Small Business (HUBZONE 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business) contractors for the following listed requirement. The Government WILL NOT pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via the Federal Business Opportunities (http://www.fbo.gov) The Army Corps of Engineers is interested in awarding (1) contract for an integrated propulsion system for repowering its towboat, the MISTER PAT. The system procured will be delivered to Corps Memphis District for installation. The system and auxiliary components consists of the following: 1.(2) Engines, Continuous rated 1000 HP @ 1800 RPM, mounts suitable for chockfast 2.(2) Reverse Reduction Gears, close coupled to engines, vertical offset, 4.5:1 ratio, mounts suitable for chockfast, gears to provide propeller counter rotation. 3.(2) Shaft Companion Flanges & coupling bolts. 4.Ship Set, Grid coolers for engines & gears. 5.Torsional analysis. 6.(2) Torsional couplings. 7.(2 sets) Exhaust flexes, lined stainless steel multi-ply. 8.(2) Spark arrestor silencers, critical grade. 9.(2) Duplex fuel oil filters, 2 micron. 10.Ship Set, Electronic Propulsion controls and monitoring, with provision for shaft brake operation, 2 stations. 11.Ship Set, Closed Circuit Crank Case Ventilation System 12.Ship Set, Engine monitoring system, 2 stations. 13.Ship Set, Propulsion and monitoring wiring harnesses. 14.(2) Shafts Aquamet 17 or equal, 26.5' length by 5.5 quote mark diameter, with nickel Chrome Boron liners, machined and blue fit to propellers and companion flanges. 15.Ship Set, cutlass bearings, 3 per shaft. 16.(2) Propellers, Diameter, 5 blade, 66 quote mark diameter, 0.8 DAR, ABS CF-3 Stainless steel. 17.(2) propeller nuts & (2) propeller fairwater caps.
