Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation no. AG-81J8-S-14-0612 is issued for a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-74. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business. The NAICS code is 333314 and the small business size standard is 500 employees or less. The USDA, ARS, Arid-Land Agricultural Research Center requires an Olympus Confocal Microscope-FV10I Water System, including 30" monitor or Equivalent, as follows: The system required is to be based on the Olympus FV10i LIV Confocal Microscope, or an equal. All optical components, detection components and lasers must be housed within the apparatus, thereby circumventing the need for a dedicated darkroom. The microscope system must also have an automated correction collar, which allows for a "hands-off-hardware" image acquisition. The system must also have a build-in vibration isolation table, to allow the system to be run on any bench-top surface. The laser light source must include Ultraviolet/Visible light LD lasers-405nm (18mW), 473nm (12.5mW), and 635nm (10mW), and 559nm. The detection modules must include 2 fluorescence channels and 1 phase contrast channel. The system must include Z-drive motorized focus with a minimum increment of 0.01 mm. New equipment only; no refurbished or remanufactured equipment. Must include manufacturer's warranty. Delivery is to the USDA, ARS, Arid Land Agricultural Research Center, 21881 N Cardon Lane, Maricopa, AZ 85138-3004.
