- On June 13, 2014, the Techncial Center of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, held an Industry Day for Low Cost Responsive Launch Capability. The event was held at the Digital Theater in the Saturn V Hall, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville, Ala. This amendment provides the briefing slides presented during that event. A future amendment will be issued to provide answers to questions, and attendee information. On June 13, 2014, the Technical Center of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, will present an Industry Day for Low Cost Responsive Launch Capability. The event will be held at the Digital Theater in the Saturn V Hall, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville, Ala. from 8 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. CDT. The purpose of the Industry Day will be for the U.S. Army to provide an overview of its plans for the solicitation for a low cost responsive launch capability and to answer questions from industry related to these plans. The Industry Day will also afford an opportunity for industry interaction related to this topic. A separate special announcement may be issued via FEDBIZOPPS detailing any additional required information. The USASMDC/ARSTRAT is partnered with other Department of Defense organizations on a Joint Capability Technology Demonstration to develop technologies that will lead to a responsive, low cost, tactical launch capability for the military. USASMDC/ARSTRAT is contemplating soliciting one or more venders to design, develop, integrate, conduct ground testing, and execute at least one orbital flight demonstration of a low cost, responsive, tactical space launch vehicle.
