- Description
- This is a notice of Intent to award a Sole Source contract for 236 gym memberships, with ability to increase based on usage, to a vendor that can provide a fully comprehensive state-of-the-art health club facility membership in accordance with the specifications listed below. Pursuant to FAR 31.205-13, employee morale, health, and welfare activities designed to improve working conditions, employer-employee morale, health, and welfare activities designed to improve working conditions, employer-employee relations, employee morale, and employee performance are allowable for wellness/fitness centers. As part of the agency-wide Health and Wellness program, sponsored by Department of Homeland Security/Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has a requirement to provide ICE employees in Tech World Office at 801 I Street, NW Washington, DC, 20536 with access/membership to a fully comprehensive state-of-the-art health club facility. The vendor facility must be located within the close proximity of the Tech World/801 I Street Offices where the employees are stationed. The resultant vendor offering the facility necessary to qualify as a "full-range health & fitness center" must be no more than a 1/10 (.10) mile distance from the 801 I Street office complex. This requirement is necessary to limit the amount of foot travel time from the place of work to the fitness facility. This effort will cover a period of performance of a twelve (12) month base and twelve (12) month option period from date of award. A. Full service fitness/workout facilities B. State-of-the-art equipment C. Hours of Operation which are concurrent with the standard core working hours of the participating offices. D. Shower facilities E. Towel and Locker services This award will be under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Vida Fitness, Renaissance Hotel Facility, 919 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20537. Vida Fitness, Inc. is the only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement for this is a commercial item in accordance with FAR Part 12, acquisition of commercial services. The above named vendor is believed to be the only source of that can meet the specifications listed above. The notice of intent is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes. Any interested vendors that believe they can satisfy this requirement, may submit their capabilities, qualifications and product literature fully supporting that their product meets all of the specifications contained herein in writing by mail or e-mail to Heather Cauthinn no later than 12:00 p.m. EDT on July 2, 2014.
