Department of Veterans Affairs Date: June 19, 2014 From: Office Acquisition and Logistics, National Acquisition Center, Business Resource Service Solicitation Number: VA797T-14-P-0084 Notice Type: Notice of intent to sole source The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Hines Service Distribution Center (SDC), Service and Repair (S&R) Department in conjunction with the VA National Acquisition Center (NAC), Business Resource Service (BRS) has a requirement for maintenance and repair of two (2) Olympus Digital Flexible Ureteroscope, model, DUR-D and one (1) Olympus Flexible HD Cysto Nephro Videoscope, model, CYF-VH. The Government intends to issue a firm-fixed-price contract, on a sole source basis to Olympus America, Incorporated, Center Valley, Pennsylvania. At this time, maintenance and repair of Olympus Digital Flexible Ureteroscope, model, DUR-D and Flexible HD Cysto Nephro Videoscope, model, CYF-VH stated herein can only be provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) due to the proprietary part (s), repair (s), service (s)and complex nature of the required repairs. In addition, the use of OEM components and adherence to OEM's repair specifications is essential to maintain clinical performance, durability and sterilization validation. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested parties may submit a capability statement that includes technical specifications of services, demonstrating ability to provide service and repair of described equipment herein. Responses under this Notice of Intent must be emailed by Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM CT. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement for future requirements. A determination not to compete this and future requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interesting parties in responding to this notice. The Government is not obligated and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. Please email, Ms. Mechelle D.
