Description

DRAFT SOW The audio playback machine supplied by NLS to its patrons will playback audio materials stored on flash memory devices. The playback machine contains a dock that accepts a custom designed flash memory cartridge that allows for easy insertion and removal for patrons with limited dexterity. Patrons and libraries are able to purchase the NLS designed flash memory cartridges from 3rd party vendors. The 3rd party cartridges are connected to a PC where books downloaded from the NLS book repository, BARD, can be copied to the cartridge for playback in the NLS player. Due to the custom shape of the cartridge an adapter cable is required to connect the cartridge to a PC. The contractor shall manufacture and deliver a custom USB adapter cable as specified in the technical drawing attached to the statement of work. The Library of congress intends to issue this requirement as a sole source to the National Blindness Professional Certification Board. Any firm that wishes to be considered for this requirement must submit a capability statement that demonstrates its ability to meet all the requirements described in the attached draft SOW.
