- PLEASE NOTE: Plans and specifications are now available for download at www.fbo.gov. The bid due date has been changed to July 21, 2014. The purpose of this contract is to prevent unauthorized motor vehicle use on the Descanso Ranger District. The unauthorized routes will be restored to natural appearing condition through a method known as Extreme Surface Roughening. Pipe rail barriers will then be fabricated and installed at the access points of these unauthorized routes to prevent vehicles from accessing the newly restored landscape. The selected contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials, and services necessary to perform the fabrication and installation of pipe rail barriers, pipe rail gates, forest service road gates, and the scarification (Extreme Surface Roughening) of unauthorized motorized vehicle routes. The work will be performed at numerous work sites on the Descanso and Trabuco Ranger Districts of the Cleveland National Forest. (San Diego, Orange and Riverside Counties). The Government Estimate for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. A pre-bid site visit for each district will be held. Information on the site visit will be included in the specifications.
