Description

This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources with the classification of small business relative to NAICS 325413 (size standard of 500 employees), In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published via the Fedbizopps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement when made available to the public. The VHA SAO East/ORD office is conducting market research seeking potential sources to provide for the requirement described in this notice and gather information on current capabilities within the market. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not reimburse interested parties for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Proprietary information submitted should be marked appropriately and will be controlled and secured. All submitted information shall remain with the U.S. Government and will not be returned. The VHASAO East/ORD office is conducting this market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified businesses, including small businesses capable of providing supplies and services within NAICS code 325413. The VA Maryland Health Care System has a need for services to supply and distribute various manufactured chemicals and reagents to support ongoing research projects. This market research will result in identifying sources that can perform the following: "Supply and distribute a large variety of manufactured chemicals and reagents. "Offer same day delivery or next day delivery. "Have an online ordering system. "Offer customer service support Monday-Friday 7am-5pm EST. If you are interested, are capable of providing the required service, and if your firm is a Small Business, response to this notice should include company name, address, DUNS number, point of contact, and email address. If your firm is also disadvantaged, please indicate the category, and if your firm can provide these services on a GSA/FSS contract, please indicate the contract number. Please submit the following information: REQUESTED INFORMATION: (1) STATEMENT OF CAPABILITY: Submit a brief description [three (3) pages or less] that shows your company can provide the following: 1.Name and address of company 2.Product Capabilities a. Complete product list or catalog 3. Relevant experience, including: a. Contract name b. Contract Agency or Department c. Contract value d. Period of performance e. Description of work and how it relates to the requirements (2) BUSINESS SIZE AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS: (a) Indicate whether your business is large or small (b) If small, indicate if your firm qualifies as a small, emerging business, or small disadvantaged business (c) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act (d) Indicate if your firm is a certified Hub-zone firm (e) Indicate if your firm is a woman-owned or operated business (f) Indicate if your firm is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB)(g) Include the DUNS number of your firm. (h) State whether your firm is registered with the SAM and/or the VetBiz Registry at http://vip.vetbiz.gov/. If not, please NOTE: any future solicitation could only be awarded to a contractor who is registered in SAM and to receive award based on SDVOSNB or VOSB status you must be registered in the VetBiz Registry. Responses to this notice shall be e-mailed to the attention of Bridget Kornish at E-mail address: bridget.kornish@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than noon (Noon EST) July 11, 2014. Your response should include both the statement of capability and business size and socio-economic status information as explained above. This notice is to assist the VHA SAO East/ORD office in determining sources only. A SOLICITAITON IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
