Description
This is not a Request for Proposal. This a Request for Information only; no contract award will be made as a result of this notice. The Government is requesting information from prospective offerors on the upgrade and reconfiguration of 16 Army configured medium size robots. The requirement is to upgrade sixteen (16) Army-configured medium-size robots to meet Air Force Medium Size Robot (AFMSR) platform configuration. The upgrade will ensure a continued capability to meet worldwide C-IED and force protection mission requirements without the risk of mission degradation due to non-standard fleet configuration. Offeror must meet commonality, interoperability, and modularity between current fielded platforms to ensure training, operational and maintenance capability is not degraded. AF EOD currently has approximately 404 robots in its family of robots, fielded at worldwide locations. The modular software and hardware components in the fielded AFMSRs ensure commonality and interoperability between the platforms. This consistency is vitally important in many facets of the life cycle of the platforms. This common modularity thread embedded in the family of robots reduces overall life cycle costs across the AF-wide robotic fleet (includes Active Duty AF and AF Reserves) and offers consistent training to the operator.
