- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number W81EWF00009458 is being issued as a request for quotes (RFQ) with intent to award as a simplified acquisition. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Vicksburg, MS, Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) has a requirement for the following: ERDC needs to purchase 53,000 - 1:2 scale clay Severe Weathering (SW) bricks and 60,000-lb of high strength mortar mix that meet the characteristics and specifications listed in the attached Description of Requirements. Delivery of material shall be ASAP or no later than 30 July 2014. **PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT** In accordance with FAR clause 52.212-2, award shall be made to the responsible offeror whose quote is determined to be the Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable. Offeror SHALL INCLUDE technical data that includes the compressive, flexure, and shear test results on the scaled bricks and mortar. These parameters must meet the requirements specified in the Description of Requirement. An offeror who fails to provide technical data cannot be found technically acceptable.
