Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hereby issue this notice of intent to sole source. The FDA intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to Tecan US, Inc. located at 9401 Globe Center Dr, Suite 140 Morrisville North Carolina 27560 for QC Kit for Tecan's Freedom EVO® automatic pipet workstation. These are currently being utilized by the FDA's Winchester Engineering & Analytical Center (WEAC) located at 109 Holton Street, Winchester, MA, 01890. FDA believes that Tecan is the only contractor that can meet this requirement. QC Kit is a fully integrated liquid handling performance verification tool for Tecan's Freedom EVO® automatic pipet workstation. Tecan does not authorize any distributors to sell Tecan's products. Therefore, ONLY Tecan is able to provide the QC Kit for Tecan's equipment. The NAICS code is 423450 [MEDICAL, DENTAL, AND HOSPITAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES MERCHANT WHOLESALERS]. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capability to perform the services stated above within the timeframes needed which will be considered by the agency. It is anticipated that an award will be issued to Tecan US, INC, within approximately ten (10) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that any other organization has the capacity to meet this requirement. All responses shall be received no later than 11:00 am ET on 14 July 2014 to the attention of Shaukat Mirza via email at shaukat.Mirza@fda.hhs.gov.
