- SOURCES SOUGHT: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 23), Fargo VA Medical Center, Fargo, ND, is currently seeking information from any company that can provide the following services: Emergency Department Physician(s) (1 FTE, 2184 Hours/Year) to staff the Emergency Department (ED) with board certified or board eligible Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician to provide ED coverage on nights, weekends and federal holidays. ED Physician would fill in scheduling gaps caused by leave, unanticipated absences and additional volume. Generally, the physician would work 12 hour days (2000 to 800) and fill-in as needed for other absences. The physician would evaluate and treat VA patients who are transferred from other facilities, transported via ambulance or private conveyance, escorted in, or walk-in for care. All patients must be seen with in a timely manner. A plan of care would be developed for each patient according to a triage category, presenting condition and medical screening exam. Plans for follow-up care with outside agencies or primary care provide as appropriate. Establish plan for hospitalization through the coordination with inpatient units and VA staff physicians. Assist in the transferring patients to local facilities if necessary. Communicate and document plan of care with patient care provider/staff and family. Additional duties will also be outlined in the performance work statement. Providers shall be Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible, and possess a current license. Prior experience with the VA is preferred and competency/skills with Computer Based patient record systems are a MUST. **Seeking information as to availability of any agency providers who would be able to commit to a tour of this length (one year with two one-year options to extend) at the Fargo VAMC. Also, indicate if you are a SDVOSB, VOSB, HUBZONE, 8A, WOSB, SB or Other than small business. The projected period of performance shall begin approximately 1 October 2014.
