The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Northwest Mountain Region, Western Service Area, is seeking qualified contractors to submit an offer to perform all work necessary for the installation of a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) and the removal/demolition of the existing Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI) equipment serving runway 31R at the Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose, California. This is a Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Business (SEDB) 8(a) set aside. SEDB 8(a)'s competing for this project must certify their status on the Business Declaration form inserted following Part IV, Section K, and provide a copy of the SEDB 8(a) certification letter from the Small Business Administration. The NAICS code for this project is: 237130 - Power and Communication Line and Related Structures Construction with a size standard of $33.5 million. Estimated cost is between $50,000 and $100,000. The following is a general summary of the work: Installation of the runway 31R PAPI -Installation of the PAPI Power and Control Station -Installation of LHA's (Light Housing Assemblies) -Installation of the power service for the PAPI -Installation of the maintenance areas for the PAPI Removal/Demolition of the existing VASI -Removal of all above ground structures, foundations, pull boxes, and underground conduit and cabling -Restoration of site to match surrounding grade, compaction, and condition -Proper disposal of all material The dimensions, measurements, and quantity of materials listed in the specifications and on the construction drawings are estimated and are presented to give the contractor an idea of the scope of work. See Section C - Scope of Wrok, drawings, and specifications for additional requirements. A site visit is not being offered for this project. All work must be completed within 14 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The NTP is expected to be issued within 3 weeks after the notice of contract award, or as arranged by the FAA Project Engineer. Contractors who desire an interpretation or clarification of the specifications, drawings, contract terms and conditions, etc., must submit their request via email to Cindi Tjelde at cindi.tjelde@faa.gov.
